LPCC Icons of El Movimiento
-
LPCC is the Lincoln Park Conservation Committee (LPCC) of El Paso, Texas, an informal association dedicated to preserving Lincoln Center, the murals, and the adjoining Park as a vibrant community space for cultural celebration and creative expression.
-
LPCC is partnering with the Mexican American Cultural Institute (MACI) to establish MACI's headquarters in Lincoln Park and enhance appreciation of the Mexican American culture--ranging from its indigenous roots to traditional and contemporary creative expression.
-
LPCC commissioned Field of Stars creator Corinne Chacon to design the first flags to recognize the national icons of "El Movimiento," the powerful, sweeping movement for Mexican American civil rights which forever changed the US during the 60s and 70s and also began a discussion about how we choose to identify and what values we wish to preserve.
