  • The Field of Stars was born in El Paso, Texas.

  • We partner with the Lincoln Park Conservation Committee (LPCC) and the Mexican American Cultural Institute (MACI).

  • As a community, we identify the leaders whose stories have not been told--those who have paved the way by working for fairness for all people.

  • We want everyone to be inspired, and especially children and young people, to know their history, learn its positive lessons, and draw from it the strength to achieve their dreams in spite of tough times.

  • EVERYONE CAN SHINE LIKE A STAR!

I'm Corinne Chacon, creator of the Field of Stars, born and reared in El Paso. As an activist, designer and writer, it is always a joy to discover the amazing expertise and capacity of my fellow El Pasoans. It is also an ongoing challenge to advocate for heritage tourism that embraces our unique cosmopolitan identity which sprang from the ancient indigenous matrix that fed our Mexican roots.

Frankly, we have all we need to tell our own stories and showcase, through these storytelling flags, the values we wish to transmit to newer generations. Like my friends at Lincoln Park Conservation Committee who celebrate la gente Chicana, we know that even if our community champions aren't in history books yet, we know who they are and we'll keep their stories alive.

Thank you for helping us do that and for sharing the achievements of the stars in your community. Don't wait to share your stories. Younger generations of students need to know how we overcome tough challenges by staying united and relying on each other. Our best is yet to come and our stories can help young people achieve their dreams.

Do not wait to tell your stories
